Today we had a client on an off-road course who needed advice on setting up and customizing his bike. He owned an older Yamaha XTZ 750 Super Ténéré, which may seem like an old bike at first glance, but it still has its charm and great advantages over new modern machines when riding.
There are often too many electronics on new motorcycles, which affects not only the weight, but also the riding characteristics. Some people like it, others don't. Therefore, we do not condemn old motorcycles, rather we like them, precisely because of the absence of a large number of driving assistants. Of course, the rider has to adapt to riding such a bike, because the safety margin is smaller and the bike does not forgive mistakes. We started the day slowly, with the start and analysis of the client's riding style, we found out what he uses the motorcycle for, what routes.
During the day, we tried several settings and explained to the client how he can set them himself in the future. We got feedback from him to know if the setup is optimal. After the course, the client reported to us that he now rides the motorcycle much better and gained more confidence while riding.
