Imagine the peace of solitude in the mountains. A mountain hut, where only a narrow forest road leads, in the distance only the sound of trees and birdsong. It was from here - from this forgotten corner of nature - that we set out every day to explore Slovak nature and learn off-road riding. The event, which was specially designed for large touring enduros with a capacity of 250 to 1400 cc, took place from April 28 to 30 in the vicinity of Gelnica. In three riding days, we got to know a piece of beautiful Slovakia from the saddle of a motorcycle.
We enjoyed the terrain a lot – forest roads, dirt roads, macadam, meadow sections and short asphalt junctions (passages). The routes were designed to be rideable and fun, not extreme. Our goal is not to break records, but to build confidence in the terrain, precise technique and, above all, the joy of riding. And all this in safe conditions and under the supervision of certified RMoto Academy instructors.
Honest driving, friendly atmosphere
We spent every day in the field – in a small but compact team of ten riders, supplemented by two instructors and one support vehicle. The riders were divided into performance groups, and during the trip they took turns with instructors who paid attention to them. The instruction was smooth – not theoretically, but directly in action, exactly where it mattered. The riders who had already completed the RMoto Academy Off-road Level 1 course participated – thanks to it they were ready for the next step. Trips like this are an ideal continuation, where the acquired skills are further developed directly at the riding pace. There is no room for detailed correction of mistakes here – here you ride. And if something goes wrong, the instructor will help, advise, or ride the motorcycle for you.
Relaxation, experiences and views that were worth it
Every day had its own rhythm. In the morning we set off straight from the cottage to the mountains, enjoying the beautiful views of the eastern Slovak nature during the ride, which is even more intense from a motorbike. We spent lunch at the local restaurant Emporio in Gelnica, where we were always welcomed by the cheerful Peťo – the owner, who personally made sure that we ate well, relaxed, enjoyed a coffee and gained energy for the second half of the day.
The evenings were for relaxation, conversations, analysis of riding moments and outlook for the next day. And most importantly – the entire event took place without injuries, without broken motorbikes, in a relaxed atmosphere and with smiles. Just the way it should be.

Juraj M. - BMW R 1250 GS ADVENTURE
I'm glad I had some basic off-road training before the trip - the initial section along the forest, broken and steep road would have been quite stressful otherwise. After a few rides I was just enjoying it - also thanks to the well-planned first day program and training in the quarry under the supervision of instructors. We practiced riding on climbs, working with the body and transferring weight - exactly what I needed.
The routes were chosen brilliantly – alternating forest roads, meadows with views, gravel, rocky sections and a ford. Each type of surface brought a different challenge, but thanks to good guidance and conditions, I was able to fully enjoy the ride. I appreciate that the routes were adjusted as needed and we didn't go into too difficult terrain unnecessarily.
After three days I can say that I have learned something again, I am not afraid to go off-road with my 1250 GSA – and I even enjoy it. Thanks to the instructors for the great advice and to all the participants for the pleasant atmosphere!

From my personal experience, I am very satisfied - in all aspects. The whole event took place in a friendly atmosphere, without complications or pressure, safely, with a great experience and development of riding skills.
Filip and Radek have a lot of experience and know the environment and people perfectly - even a stop for lunch is a pleasant affair, where you not only eat well, but also have great fun.
The places we will reach have the charm of views and virgin nature that Gelnica offers. Accommodation in the Relax Plejsy area is quiet, surrounded by greenery, with fresh air and a mountain atmosphere.
The rides are stress-free, and there is a sense of well-being. The instructors are great at assessing the rider's level, adjusting the ride, and moving them along without unnecessary pressure, safely, and gradually.
Even though I had a flat tire, the guys helped me fix everything right away. Thanks, guys, for the shared experiences – I'm looking forward to more!

You can already join the next trip, which will take place on September 22-24, 2025. This time it will be called BMW Motorrad Huntík and will take us on the trail of the mining history of the city of Gelnica. The routes, riding style and accommodation remain true to our concept - comfort, safety, community spirit and development of riding skills. And again open not only to BMW motorcycles, but also to other brands of large dual sports.
