Autumn is perfect for touring enduro. Sunny weather, pleasant temperatures and a landscape that plays with all colors. It was in exactly these conditions that we met at the three-day BMW Motorrad event - Huntík, which combines riding large enduro motorcycles with discovering history and nature in the Gelnice and Krompachy region.
The participants met at the Relax Plejsy mountain hut, where they were accommodated and given a brief introduction to the program. In the afternoon, we got on our motorcycles and set off on our first half-day trip. The route led through a picturesque environment, which offers many forest roads, connecting roads and viewpoints. We rode approximately 80 kilometers, and the warm autumn sun accompanied us all afternoon, an ideal start to setting the right atmosphere.
We spent the evening back at the cottage, where we had dinner and free time. It is these moments at the table that make the event more personal, the riders get to know each other better and the right community is created.
The second day was a full-day ride of approximately 150 kilometers. The nature of the route was typically adventure, alternating asphalt sections with unpaved sections, gravel or forest roads. It was not a race, but a combination of experience, learning and relaxing riding in a group.
Among the stops was the motocross track near Spišské Vlachy, where we focused on riding techniques and testing riding modes on motorcycles. An interesting moment was also a visit to the former factory in Markušovce, which once belonged to one of the major industrial enterprises in the region. The section near the Ľudmila adit, where mining history is combined with beautiful nature, also had a strong atmosphere.
We had lunch at the Emporio restaurant in Gelnica, run by our good friend Peťo. He accompanied us this time too, not only as a host, but also as a member of the party, as he rode a Husqvarna 701 Enduro. His restaurant has a unique atmosphere, Peťo is open, friendly, and his stories make every lunch an experience that the participants always look forward to.
After returning to the cottage, another bonus awaited us, wellness. After a day of riding, relaxing in the hot water was great. Relaxing together not only replenished the body, but also provided a community experience that simply belongs to Huntík.
The night before the final day brought rain, so the riding was on wet roads and gravel. However, it meant a great opportunity for the participants to try out the motorbike in more demanding conditions and learn new controls. The route measured approximately 80 kilometers and was led in such a way that everyone took away valuable experience and an unforgettable experience.
A diverse group gathered at the event, among the twelve riders there were two participants from the Czech Republic, there was also a female rider, the rest were experienced and less experienced men. Professional guidance was provided by two instructors, Radek and Filip from RMoto Academy, who explained the technique during each ride and helped the riders move forward.
BMW Motorrad - Huntík once again showed that an adventure trip can be a combination of riding training, fun, nature and history. No chasing, but a group of equally passionate people who want to explore Slovakia from a different perspective, from the saddle of a touring enduro.
