We tested the new BMW R12 G/S on a sunny day on a combination of asphalt roads and lighter terrain. The weather was favorable, temperatures around 32 °C, dry ground and minimal wind, which allowed us to verify the motorcycle's behavior on a hard surface. The test was attended by a team of experienced RMoto Academy instructors, who focused on a detailed examination of the riding characteristics.
The test was divided into several parts, and we tried to simulate real-world conditions of both on-road and difficult off-road driving.
-
Dynamics and engine – we tested acceleration from zero speed, flexibility at mid-speed and maximum acceleration on an asphalt straight. The engine showed smooth power delivery, stable thrust and instant throttle response.
-
Brakes – repeated hard braking tests on both asphalt and gravel verified the stability of the system. The ABS worked sensitively and the bike maintained its direction even when the brake lever was pressed hard.
-
Chassis – We tested it on a variety of surfaces: roots, rocks, bumps and short jumps. The suspension showed its ability to absorb impacts while keeping the bike readable and predictable.
-
Handling – good maneuverability was confirmed in slow technical passages (narrow tracks, steep hill climbs, long broken descents). In faster sections, the bike felt stable and gave the rider confidence.
-
Comfort – We appreciated the ergonomics of the seat, easy handlebar adjustment, and comfortable foot position. Vibrations were minimal, allowing for longer rides without fatigue.
The BMW R12 G/S confirmed during the day that it is a universal motorcycle suitable for long trips and dynamic riding in enduro terrain. Performance, chassis and brake tests showed a high level of technical processing. The motorcycle offers stability, comfort and a wide range of uses. The overall impression of the test is very positive, the R12 G/S model is ready to withstand demanding conditions and provides the rider with a combination of adventure with confidence and safety.
