From June 30 to July 4, 2025, we prepared a comprehensive 5-day enduro training for a closed group of four young riders aged 12 to 14 in the Veľký Grob area near Bratislava. The guys came without any previous experience with motorcycles - without equipment, without a motorbike, but with a desire to learn something new. We took care of everything: equipment, technology and a safe environment. The training was tailored so that they would enjoy the ride and at the same time lay a solid foundation for future riding - whether recreational or leading to a driver's license.
We started from the very beginning – starting, shifting gears, braking, choosing a track, balance and body work. First, each participant rode a Honda XR 100 R, a low and light motorcycle ideal for children and teenagers. Thanks to the low seat height, everyone could comfortably reach the ground, which significantly contributed to their confidence and safety.
In the next phase, three of the older riders (14 years old) tried the Stark VARG MX electric motorcycle, which, although it does not have a clutch, gave them a new perspective on the performance, handling and height of the motorcycle. The taller construction of the machine helped them start working on weight transfer and stability in more demanding terrain. For the youngest rider, the Honda XR 100 R remained the ideal choice – both in terms of height and riding style.
After learning the basics, we took the next step – riding real enduro motorcycles. During the training, the guys tried out:
-
Husqvarna FE 250 (4-stroke)
-
Husqvarna FE 350 (4-stroke)
-
Husqvarna TE 300 (2-stroke)
Each of these machines gave them a different riding experience – different throttle responses, power, weight and braking effect. The guys learned how to shift gears properly on larger motorcycles, how to start uphill, how to handle steep descents, exits and technical passages. In the end, they rode the entire motocross track, including sections that they wouldn’t have dared to avoid at the beginning.
Every day we worked on a different aspect of riding. There were also fun forms of teaching – riding behind each other, overtaking, “chasing” on the track, where the guys practiced choosing a track, quick reactions and spatial orientation. The weather was sunny and warm throughout the entire training, which allowed us to fully devote ourselves to riding.
Safety and instruction were handled by head instructor Radek, assisted by Filip. The training was tailored to the client's requirements, with the aim of preparing young riders not only for recreational riding, but also for their future driving license.
Even though it was their first experience on a motorbike, all four of them completed the 5-day program with enthusiasm, discipline and visible progress. They had fun, nothing happened to them, and each of them left with a smile and new riding skills.
If you are looking for a way to safely and systematically introduce children to motorcycles - contact us. We will prepare the training exactly according to their age, level and goals.
