Jozef just bought his dream bike – a brand new KTM 250 EXC-F 2025 – and decided to start responsibly: with tailored training that will help him safely and effectively build on the experiences of his youth.
He decided to go down a size and made a very good move. Many recreational riders go for the 350 or 450 models, which seem more powerful, but often remain unused in everyday riding. A smaller bike – like the KTM 250 EXC-F – is usually lighter, less aggressive on the throttle and easier to control, which makes it much easier to learn the technique and return after a longer break.
We started the training with individual settings of the motorcycle – handlebar height, levers, tire pressure, telescopes, etc. Then we moved on to the track, which offers a combination of technical and smoother sections. The track surface was ideal that day – the previous rain left a soft and pliable surface that was neither overheated nor hard. Within a few laps, legible tracks, fine grooves and natural runs were formed, which significantly helped with technical interpretation and driving.
After the start, there was a technical explanation directly in the field - we rode individual passages repeatedly, explaining the ideal track, stance, body work, and smooth power distribution.
An important part was also the video analysis of the riding style – some technical mistakes can only be eliminated by a rider when he sees them from above. In Jozef's case, it brought an immediate effect – within a few hours, a noticeable shift in balance, weight distribution, and riding rhythm was visible.
Although Jozef had a break of several years, it was clear that he had ridden a motorbike in his teens. He had certain movements "in him" and training only helped him to reactivate them and connect them with new techniques. At the end of half a day, we covered the entire track at a smooth pace - without stress, with a clean ride through the technical sections and with a smile.
This training was further proof that a well-chosen motorcycle, quality setup, and professional supervision are the keys to educational and fun riding - whether for complete beginners or returning after years.
