Our enduro school prepared another off-road course, this time in the vicinity of Malacky. The track on which the course took place is known for its sandy surface, which brings riders a completely different experience than classic clay or gravel. In places, the riding was on fine sand in a pine forest, which created a unique atmosphere reminiscent of riding in foreign sandy terrains.
The riding took place in the form of an individual course, where client David had the opportunity to receive maximum attention from instructor Radek. Both rode BMW R 1250 GS motorcycles in the Triple Black edition, which underlined the nature of the course and allowed him to try out the motorcycle in full force.
Sand is a challenge for most riders because it requires specific technique, so the full-day course focused on these key skills:
-
correct motorcycle setup for off-road riding
-
work in stepladders and proper posture
-
choosing the ideal footprint in deep sand
-
maintaining stability when driving through difficult sections
-
acceleration and braking technique on sand
The weather was kind, with clear skies, pleasant temperatures and a sunny day reminiscent of Indian summer. This created an ideal environment for training, allowing David to fully concentrate on riding and improving his technique.
Riding in the sand is one of the most demanding disciplines for touring enduro motorcycles, but at the same time it brings the rider a huge experience. It teaches you to work better with your body, control the throttle and brakes, and predict the behavior of the motorcycle. The individual course provides the opportunity for intense riding and immediate feedback, thanks to which the rider advances in his riding level significantly faster.
