For the second time, a married couple applied to us for preparatory training aimed at their expedition to Bosnia and Herzegovina. The couple owns a KTM 690 Enduro R and a Honda CRF300 Rally, which are very good bikes for their light weight, agility and performance. Our main instructor, Radek Matoška, went through all the sections on a stock BMW R 1250 GS Trophy on smooth (road) tires. They plan their trip in such a way that it combines driving on asphalt roads and off-road.
The training was mainly focused on situations they may encounter during the trip - how to behave in an environment where they are alone, how to spend as little physical energy as possible while riding, how to help each other and how to perform basic service on motorcycles.
As usual in our courses, we emphasized practical advice and tips. During the day, we covered several techniques for lifting a motorcycle, either fully loaded or without luggage and accessories. We tried descents and exits, deviated turns, turns on a narrow road.
The training took place in the rain, but that certainly didn't bother us, because during your own trip you don't choose the weather and anything can happen to you. Taking into account the experience of the clients, we chose a suitable track that was reasonably demanding but benefited from personal challenges. We alternated several types of surfaces and also focused on driving through the forest and on wet, slippery roots.
The day went very well and we believe that the couple will thoroughly enjoy their expedition.
